These terms govern your use of dashrecap.com. By reading the catalogue you accept them. If you do not accept them, please close the page.

1. What this site is

DashRecap is an informational and editorial website. We publish short reviews of free-to-play mobile games available on Google Play, together with the store rating shown at the time of our last check. Every score, note and recommendation is the opinion of our editorial desk, formed after we install and play the game. It is not professional advice and it is not a statement of fact about the quality of any product.

We are not a game shop and we are not a download source. Installing a game happens on Google Play, under the terms of Google and of the developer. The only paid product on this site is our own Plus membership, set out in section 3.

2. Advertising disclosure

The site is free to read and is supported by advertising. Developers and their partners can pay for promotion, and some links in the catalogue are advertising links. Where a placement is promoted, that arrangement covers visibility only.

Advertising never changes an editorial score, the wording of a note, or the store figures we quote. A promoted title is play-tested on the same terms as any other, and a title that does not hold up is described that way regardless of any commercial arrangement.

The desk is also funded directly by readers, through the Plus membership described in section 3. Neither advertising nor a membership changes what we publish about a game.

3. Plus membership

What it is. Plus is an optional paid membership offered by DashRecap on this site. It adds the extended write-ups — detailed notes on mechanics, pace and difficulty — early access to a new review before it reaches the public catalogue, a weekly e-mail digest from the desk, and the archive of past editions. The public catalogue, with every card, score and short note, stays free to read without a membership.

Rates. A$4.90 per month, or A$39 per year for the same membership. Rates are in Australian dollars and include GST where it applies. If a rate changes, current members are told by e-mail before the change takes effect and may cancel beforehand.

Seats and when billing starts. Plus seats are opened in stages. Joining the list on this site is a request, not a purchase. Nothing is charged until we confirm your seat by e-mail and you complete the enrolment from that message; until then neither side is under any obligation.

Cancellation. You may cancel at any time, without giving a reason and without a cancellation fee, through the link in any digest or by writing to the desk. Access continues to the end of the period already paid for; after that the membership stops and nothing further is charged. A yearly membership cancelled part-way through runs to the end of that year.

Payments. Payments are handled by an external payment provider on its own secure page. DashRecap never receives or stores your full card details; we hold only the e-mail address, the membership status and the dates attached to it, as set out in the Privacy Policy.

Your rights. Nothing in this section excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees available to you under the Australian Consumer Law. If the membership is not supplied as described here, you are entitled to a remedy under that law, and we will deal with it directly.

Editorial independence. Plus is an editorial product. A membership, like any advertising arrangement, never changes a score, the wording of a note, or the store figures we quote.

4. No affiliation

DashRecap is an independent publication. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise connected to Google LLC, Google Play, or any of the studios and publishers whose games appear in the catalogue. Google Play and the Google Play name are trademarks of Google LLC.

5. Intellectual property

Game titles, icons, screenshots, promotional art and trademarks belong to their respective rights holders. They appear here in an editorial context, for identification and illustration of the games under review, and their use does not imply any partnership.

The editorial text, the structure of the catalogue, the layout, the design system and the DashRecap name are ours. You may quote a short extract with a visible link back to this site. Republishing the catalogue in bulk, or copying the design, requires our written permission.

Player quotations on this site are reproduced from public Google Play reviews and belong to their authors.

6. Store figures and accuracy

Ratings and review counts are copied from the public Google Play listing on the day a title is checked, and are quoted exactly as displayed. These figures change over time, and a game may be updated, renamed or removed by its developer at any moment. Always open the Google Play listing through the link on the card before installing anything.

7. External links

Links to Google Play and to other external destinations are provided for convenience. We do not control those pages and are not responsible for their content, their terms or the way they handle your data.

8. Site availability and disclaimers

The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that it will be free of interruption or error, or that every detail will remain accurate after publication. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that applies under the Australian Consumer Law and cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, DashRecap is not liable for any damage arising from your use of this site, from reliance on an editorial opinion published here, or from your dealings with a third-party service reached through a link. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to supplying the information on this site again.

10. Acceptable use

Please do not attempt to interfere with the site, to access it by automated means at a rate that degrades it for other readers, or to reproduce it in a way that suggests it is your own publication.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, with the "Last updated" date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Australian courts, without affecting any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
